Description

This is the refight of Pleiades Yearling (SpaceX Transporter 7) after the original Pleiades Yearling failed to deploy on SpaceX Transporter 6.

Pleiades Yearling is a 1U CubeSat and the third launched from Cal Poly Pomona's Bronco Space student organization. With a total cost of less than $1,000, Yearling 2.0 is the second step toward a low-cost, open source architecture aimed at opening the doors to space for all universities.

This satellite is built using the PROVES (Pleiades Rapid Orbital Verification Experimental System) 1U CubeSat platform. While the original Yearling was built on a PyCubed based architecture, Yearling 2.0 is a radical overhaul that optimizes the platform for accessibility, manufacturability, and low cost. The flight model for Yearling was produced and delivered for flight in only two weeks. Once the platform gains flight heritage, it shall made be open sourced for educational use.
