Description
MetOp-SG B1 is the first of the microwave imaging and radar-focused B-type series of Europe's Second Generation Polar Operational Meteorological Satellites (EPS-SG). Developed by ESA and operated by EUMETSAT, it carries five specialized payloads: an advanced scatterometer (SCA), a microwave imager (MWI), an Ice Cloud Imager (ICI), a radio occultation sounder (RO), and an Argos-4 Data Collection System (A-DCS). It operates in an 824 km Sun-Synchronous LEO orbit.
