Description

Ionosfera-M is a constellation of four Russian satellites designed to monitor the Earth's ionosphere. They are part of the larger Ionozond project, which also includes the Zond-M satellite for solar observations. The Ionosfera-M satellites are placed in two orbital planes, with two satellites in each plane, and they operate on sun-synchronous orbits at an altitude of approximately 800 km.
