Description

SD-1 SAT is a 3U CubeSat mission led by Space & Bean and scheduled for launch aboard Korea’s Nuri launch vehicle (KSLV-II) on its fifth flight. The mission is designed to collect space radiation data in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) using low-power radiation sensors and to compare the performance of two different radiation shielding materials. It also carries commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, including camera and edge AI modules, to demonstrate their operation in the space environment. The satellite bus was developed by the Department of Satellite Systems at Yonsei University, which is also responsible for mission operations.
